Xbox one chat adapter target4/10/2023 ![]() ![]() Headsets with 3.5mm controller jack, 2 black bands - normal heaphones, no mic. now you should have your mic working and sound through your one speaker. Connect your 3.5mm cord to the 3.5 to 2.5 adapter you purchased, then plug that cord into the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cord included with the chat adapter. If you have a type of headset like this, you need to purchase a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter like the one here. Headsets with 3.5mm controller jack, 2 black bands - phone chat cords(one speaker, one mic), maybe other on my AX Pros and i believe A50s, that would be the optical connection to the xbox/tv. Use whatever connection you used on your 360/ps3 to get game sound. You can use the adapter to receive game sounds as well, but the output will not be great because its not running through your headsets sound processor. If you did this and your microphone won't work, this is why. DO NOT plug a regular 3.5mm cable directly into the adapter. if you recieved the adapter from buying the Xbox One stereo headset, the cable isn't included, but can be bought here. You MUST use the included 2.5mm adapter that came with the adapter. Headsets with 2.5mm controller jack - Tritton AX Pros, 720, Astro A40s, A50s, etc. Now that the explanation is out of the way, I'll try to summarize how to connect different kinds of headsets below. The adapter cable included with the adapter basically drops one of the speaker channels, allowing mic connection to be wired properly. The extra cable allows stereo speakers to connect to the controller and receive the sounds for both left and right speakers while also including mic support. Previous gen chat cables are only 3 wires, connecting speaker, ground, mic. The 3 rings on the Xbox One jack mean there are 4 wires, which support left speaker, right speaker, ground, and mic. ![]() ![]() This is the main reason why your chat mic is not working. Most 360/ps3/pc headsets have a 3.5mm controller cable with 2 black rings. if you look at the 2.5 to 3.5 cable included with the adapter, the male 3.5 mm end has 3 black rings. The chat adapter input cable is a very specific 3.5mm jack. This seems to be the biggest problem most people have, so i'll break this down by headsets i know. If anyone has any other hints i don't mention, please comment and i'll update the post. After days of internet surfing, i think i can help most people having issues such as mic not working, sound quality, etc. I, like most, have had issues with the chat adapter not working for my headsets(Tritton AX Pros). ![]()
